Former Brightlight Pictures deal maker Karyn Edwards has joined rival producer Thunderbird Films.

Edwards becomes VP of business and legal affairs at Vancouver-based Thunderbird.

While at Brightlight, Edwards was most recently EVP business and legal affairs.

Thunderbird said Edwards has structured and closed more than $500 million in production financing for North American producers.

She joins Thunderbird after its expanded by acquiring Vancouver-based Reunion Pictures and forming a joint venture with Lionsgate, Sea to Sky Entertainment.
