Lucas Talent, Muse Artist and JR Talent agencies merge

Lucas Talent has announced a merger with Muse Artist Management and JR Talent in Vancouver.

The combined entity will unite under the Lucas Talent brand some of the biggest names in Canadian acting and directing talent — including Anne Wheeler, Louis Ferreira and Matt Frewer — with active rosters at Muse Artist and JR Talent that include Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoke on Arrow, and Luvia Petersen, who recurs on Continuum.

Lucas Talent president Eric Edwards told Playback Daily that the merger will allow the enlarged agency to better develop and strengthen ties with the Los Angeles market.

“Everything goes in cycles and we are making a big move, believing that we will soon enter another growth period in the industry,” Edwards insisted.

The enlarged agency will be backed by 15 agents, managers and support staff, including Richard Lucas, JR Talent co-founder Jodi Caplan, and literary agent Anna Archer.

In addition, Muse founder Kim Barsanti, who has run the company for 10 years, is using the merger to cut back on business responsibilities to focus on being an agent and manager.
