Discovery Networks International (DNI) has acquired Bahama Blue (pictured), an underwater factual series from Parallax Film Productions, to air in 2015.
The six-part series is being produced for Oasis HD in Canada and was last year picked up for global sales by TVF International, as previously reported.
DNI has taken rights for Discovery’s Focus network in Italy, and for Animal Planet across EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America. The series is being led by noted underwater cinematographer Pete Zuccarini.
In a joint statement, Parallax producers Ian Herring and Maija Leivo said: “Cutting edge technology has enabled us to bring the most modern filming techniques to one of the most quintessential of the factual genres: natural history.
“This pioneering series will use stunning visuals with life and death story lines guarantee unprecedented TV experiences and profile wildlife in the Bahamas like never before.”
