Anaid Productions hires CBC’s Claire Martin

Claire Martin, the former CBC News senior meteorologist, has been appointed to the new position of managing director at  prodco Anaïd Productions.

In her new role, Martin will oversee Anaïd’s daily operations and communications, as well as work closely with the company’s producers on a number of projects, including its OLN series The Liquidator.

During her time with CBC, Martin was responsible for leading teams of meteorologists across Canada, an experience that made her well suited for the role of managing director, Margaret Mardirossian, founder and executive producer of Anaïd Productions, told Playback.

In addition, the production company hopes to tap into Martin’s science background as it looks to develop more science-focused shows in the future.

“The fact that she is a scientist is a great advantage to us, if we are trying to create projects that are for Discovery or NatGeo,” Mardirossian said.

Anaïd Productions focuses on both dramatic and reality television, and has offices in Edmonton and North Vancouver. In addition to The Liquidator, the copro has worked on Hail Mary, The Quon Dynasty, and X-Weighted.
