Entertainment One Films U.S. has picked up the U.S. rights to The Grand Seduction, the English-language remake of La Grande Seduction, which bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The Canadian-based distributor plans a summer 2014 release stateside for the Brendan Gleeson and Taylor Kitsch-starrer from director Don McKellar.
McKellar took over directing duties for Grand Seduction from Ken Scott, who left the project to remake Starbuck for DreamWorks.
Michael Dowse and Scott wrote the script for the remake of the French-Canadian film, with Roger Frappier and Barbara Doran producing and Mark Slone, Jeff Sackman and Joe Iacono executive producing.
eOne also has the distribution rights to the film in Canada and the U.K.
