Berry Meyerowitz’s Phase 4 Films has acquired U.S. home entertainment distributor ESI Distribution.
Terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed, but ESI Distribution was launched by Kirk Andreasen and Brien Culver in 1989, and is based out of offices Fort Worth, Texas and Seattle, Washington.
ESI Distribution has long-standing industry relationships selling consumer goods to membership warehouse clubs, including CDs, VHS, DVDs, books, computer software, musical instruments and fitness equipment.
“The synergy in our business model with Phase 4 was a natural catalyst to join forces,” said ESI co-owners Andreasen and Culver in a joint statement on Monday.
Phase 4 Films also secured a new pipeline of movies by signing a distribution agreement with The Criterion Collection.
The Canadian distributor is to release The Criterion Collection’s The Great Beauty on VOD on Feb. 25.
