Raven Banner Entertainment has acquired the Canadian rights to Kaare Andrew’s Cabin Fever: Patient Zero.

The genre distributor picked up the latest installment of Eli Roth’s horror franchise that was written by Jake Wade Wall (The Hitcher), and which stars Sean Astin, Currie Graham, Ryan Donowho, Brando Eaton and Jillian Murray.

Cabin Fever: Patient Zero portrays a cruise ship in the Caribbean colliding with an abandoned research vessel, and unleashing a deadly virus that forces passengers to elude a flesh eating disease for survival.

The acquisition deal was negotiated by Michael Paszt, James Fler, and Annick Mahnert for Raven Banner Entertainment, and Kevin Hoiseth from Voltage Pictures for the producers.

Raven Banner will release Cabin Fever: Patient Zero in early 2014 in 28 theatres across Canada as part of its Sinister Cinema series with Cineplex Entertainment.
