Bell Media‘s The Movie Network and Corus Entertainment‘s Movie Central have ordered the documentary series Sports on Fire.
The series, made up of six half-hour episodes, looks at iconic moments in sporting history through interviews with athletes, experts and historians, and archival footage.
Some of the history-making sporting events the series will look at include Team Canada’s match-up against the U.S.S.R. in the 1972 Summit Series, and Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
The series was produced by Project 10 Productions Inc. and Two 4 The Money Media, in association with The Movie Network and Movie Central. Pete McCormack is the director and executive producer of Sports on Fire.
The series air in 2015 on The Movie Network in Eastern Canada, and Movie Central in Western Canada in 2015.
