Entertainment One Films U.S. has picked up the U.S. rights to the documentary Watermark from Manufactured Landscapes’ Edward Burtynsky and Jennifer Baichwal.
The stateside deal was done with Entertainment One Films International, which has the worldwide rights to the Canadian documentary.
eOne will release the film about the global water resource theatrically in 2014.
“Watermark is not only powerful and captivating, it is essential viewing for anyone who cares about the impact that our actions of today will have on future generations,” eOne Films U.S. senior vice president and general manager Dylan Wiley said in a statement.
Watermark debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The film is produced by Sixth Wave Productions, with Nicholas de Pencier serving as a producer and Daniel Iron as executive producer.
eOne is handling international sales of Watermark, excluding Canada, where Mongrel Media is releasing.
