Cineflix Rights has inked multi-territory deals for the British documentary The Day Kennedy Died ahead of the 50th anniversary of the death of the U.S. president later this month.
The distribution arm of Cineflix Media has sold the Leslie Woodhead-written and directed documentary to Foxtel Australia, Sky Italia, Discovery Iberia, Discovery Netherlands and CCTV China.
The film from the makers of The Day John Lennon Died has also been sold to VRT Belgium, ORF Austria, TV4 Sweden, RTL Belgium, DRTV Denmark, NRK Norway and N24 Germany.
Woodhead’s film takes an hour-by-hour look at the events leading up to Kennedy’s death in Dallas.
The film was originally acquired by ITV in the U.K. and Smithsonian Channel in the U.S.
In Canada, the milestone of the U.S. presidential assassination is being marked by Shaw Media with the airing of the docu-drama Killing Kennedy, starring Rob Lowe, and two documentaries to air on History, JFK: Seven Days that Made a President and JFK: The Day That Changed Everything.
