eOne, Antica Productions sign first-look deal

Entertainment One has signed a new first-look deal with Stuart Coxe’s Antica Productions.

The partners will jointly develop factual programming for both the North American and the international TV markets, with eOne serving as the studio and deficit financier, and handling worldwide distribution.

The deal follows eOne and Toronto-based Antica coproducing the cooking competition series Compete to Eat (pictured) for Blue Ant Media’s Cottage Life Channel.

“We are very happy with the terrific experience we had working together on Compete to Eat and look forward to producing more fabulous programming with Stuart and his team,” said Loren Mawhinney, VP of factual entertainment at eOne, in a statement Wednesday.

eOne handles the international distribution of Compete to Eat.

Coxe launched Antica Productions in 2008 and has among his TV credits Clap for the Wolfman for Super Channel, Open Source Concerts for the CBC and Majumder Manor for W Network.
