Toronto-based VOD aggregator and distributor Syndicado has formed distribution partnership deals with Winnipeg’s Frantic Films, L.A.’s Level 33 Entertainment and Zurich, Switzerland’s First Hand Films.

Syndicado digitally distributes film and TV content through its internet and cable VOD partners, which include iTunes, Microsoft, vudu, Hulu, Amazon, Google, inDemand, Dish and Netflix.

“While still in its early development, digital distribution is rapidly gaining ground and proving a strategic platform for second window and still relevant TV series. We’re happy to partner with Syndicado, which provided a compelling and strategic approach for us to begin monetizing portions of our catalogue on some of the industry’s major internet platforms, including Hulu,” said Frantic’s post production and operations manager Stephanie Fast in a statement.

In the deal with Level 33 Entertainment, Syndicado will handle cable VOD distribution and internet VOD in the Canadian market for select titles in Level33’s catalogue.

“Facing ever-increasing challenges in the tight Canadian broadcast space, we looked for other channels to reach Canadians with our market-driven library of independent and genre-based films. Syndicado provided the most cost-effective and strategic means to achieve this and we’re happy to now start distributing several titles to Canada on these new platforms,” said Level 33 EVP Sheldon Brigman in a statement.

And with First  Hand Films, Syndicado will distribute a package of feature and TV docs in the U.S., Canada and select worldwide territories.
