Avi Federgreen’s Indiecan Entertainment has picked up the Canadian distribution rights to Mourning Has Broken, from directors Brett and Jason Butler.
The acquisition follows the low-budget Canadian indie debuting at the Calgary International Film Festival.
Mourning Has Broken portrays a husband, played by Robert Nolan, reacting to the unexpected death of his wife by bottling up his grief and takes an emotional battle-axe to everything that angers him.
Mourning Has Broken was created as part of Ingrid Veninger’s 1K Challenge, which produced five Canadian features for just $1,000 per film.
Indiecan plans a winter 2013 theatrical release for Mourning Has Broken.
