Renée Skea, the former VP and director of programming at Corus Entertainment, has joined Toronto-based Big Coat Productions as VP of business development.
Skea will work with exec producers Catherine Fogarty and Maria Armstrong to oversee the company’s growth and development, including production and new media opportunities.
Skea has more than 20 years of TV experience, including in programming, scheduling, acquisitions, channel launches and management operations. Having joined Corus in 2005, she was most recently VP programming of women’s networks at the mediaco from 2010 to July 2013.
Prior to that, Skea was the director of Pay Per View at the former Bell ExpressVu, where she was part of the launch and management of the service. She has also played in a key role in launching specialty networks including OWN Canada, W Movies and CosmoTV.

She will oversee the production of Love it or List it Toronto and Love It or List It Vancouver, in addition to any new Big Coat productions.
Scollie has worked in scripted and unscripted TV genres, netting 12 Gemini noms during her career.
