THE F WORD

CBS Films has a deal with UTA to pick up the U.S. rights to the Daniel Radcliffe starring romantic comedy The F Word from Goon director Michael Dowse.

Entertainment One confirmed the sale to Playback on Wednesday morning.

Reports put the value of the rights deal near $3 million.

The romantic comedy, starring Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan, Rafe Spall and Megan Park, tells the story of a young man who must put to test the idea that boys and girls can be “just friends” when he falls for a girl at a party who already has a boyfriend.

The film is written by Elan Mastai, with Jesse Shapira executive producing and David Gross, Macdara Kelleher and Andre Rouleau producing.

The F Word debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 7, and immediately afterwards fielded U.S. offers, including from Roadside Attractions.

The film will be released by eOne in Canada and the U.K.

UTA handles U.S. rights, while eOne Films International is handling the film internationally.
