Patrick O’Sullivan is leaving the CBC as executive in charge of production to join film and TV producer Mark Montefiore as they launch a new TV and film production shingle, New Metric Media.

O’Sullivan will depart the pubcaster at the end of August to run the screenwriter-driven production house with Montefiore, whose credits include Cas & Dylan and Picnicface.

Projects from New Metric Media, to be based out of Pinewood Toronto Studios, will be aimed at the North American and world markets.

The New Metric Media slate includes the comedic feature Ramingtons: Men of Steel, an Irish-Canadian coproduction to start shooting at the end of the year.

While at the CBC, O’Sullivan earlier served as executive in charge of development: comedy, and before that worked at CTV and the Canadian Film Centre.
