Proper Television has begun production on Hardcore Heroes, a docu-drama for History in Canada and Military Channel in the U.S. The six-part, one-hour series will also air on Discovery Channel in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Each episode features two true stories of courage, from war heroes and first responders to tech mavericks and selfless civilians. The stories will focus on the risks, challenges and tactics involved in saving lives or changing the future.

To tell the stories, Hardcore Heroes will feature CGI maps, stock footage, period stills, live action retellings, as well as first-person interviews with the heroes, survivors and team members. Experts will also provide context and details on how the people were able to accomplish the formidable tasks.

The series, which is being filmed across North America, is a coproduction commissioned by Shaw Media’s History, Discovery Communications’ Military Channel in the U.S., and Discovery Channel in parts of Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Hardcore Heroes is exec produced by Proper’s Guy O’Sullivan and Jennifer Scott. Jeffrey Hirschfield is the series producer.
