Lionsgate to launch Hunger Games: Catching Fire in London

Looking to build buzz for its teen tentpole 100 days out, Lionsgate is to unveil The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with a world premiere in London on Nov. 11.

The red carpet bow will come ahead of the Nov. 22 wide theatrical release for the second installment of the Hunger Games franchise.

The mini-studio is also to open Catching Fire day-and-date with its domestic release in nearly every major international territory.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire stars  Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The film begins as Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) returns home after winning the Hunger Games and embarks on a victor’s tour of the districts.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence, from a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and Michael DeBruyn.

Based on the novel Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, the teen tentpole is produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik.
