Keanu Reeves, Niv Fichman topline Asian Film Summit lineup

Canadian actor/director Keanu Reeves is to headline the second Asian Film Summit at the Toronto International Film Festival, organizers said Thursday.

Reeves will be on hand on Sept. 10 to discuss his latest movie, Man of Tai Chi, a Mandarin-language movie that has already been released in China.

The martial arts themed picture, which Reeves directs and stars in, will have its North American premiere in Toronto.

Also attending the Asian Film Summit are Blindness producers Tatsumi Yoda and Niv Fichman, and Hong Kong director Johnnie To, as are Michael Lake, CEO of Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios, Reliance Big Pictures CEO Sanjeev Lamba and Canadian producer Shan Tam of Finding Mr. Right.

“The Asian Film Summit is the product of many years’ work and a natural outgrowth of the festival’s role showcasing the best of global cinema,” said Piers Handling, director and CEO of TIFF, in a statement.
