eOne inks first-look deal with The Cartel

Entertainment One has inked a first-look deal with California-based production and management co The Cartel to develop, produce and distribute scripted and unscripted TV projects.

eOne will produce and handle worldwide distribution for all TV projects developed under the pact.

The companies have planned a development slate that includes Company Men, created by Alphas co-creator Michael Karnow; Becoming Sherlock by Mortal Instruments author Cassandra Clare; Facing Demons from Flash Gordon exec producer/showrunner Peter Hume; Blended by exec producers/showrunners Efrem Seeger and Lara Embry; and horror anthology Terror Inc. by Dan Angel, Eric Patterson and Jessica Scott.

The Cartel, on the management side, reps a slew of creative talent, and the deal with eOne brings a network of writers, directors, producers, showrunners and production companies to eOne’s infrastructure.

On the production side, The Cartel’s subsidiaries include Cartel Pictures, Remember Dreaming Productions and Pulser Productions.

“The Cartel brings a network of outstanding creative talent to eOne and opens the door to multi-platform partnerships and coproduction opportunities for both U.S. and international audiences,” said eOne EVP U.S. scripted television Michael Rosenberg in a statement.
