The History U.S. channel has turned to Quebec producer Zone3 as it enters the English language TV market for the latest addition to its hit-driven lineup.
Montreal indie Zone3, best known for Quebecois versions of Cash Cab and Family Feud, is putting the finishing touches on Gods, Guns & Automobiles, a half-hour series for the U.S. History about a throw-back car dealership in the American heartland.
The reality follows Mark Muller and his brother, Chicago radio personality Erich “Mancow” Muller as they run Max Motors in Butler, Missouri.
When the Mullers aren’t blowing up cars and staging a fake UFO landing to drive sales, they may be giving a needy farmer a deal so he can drive off the lot with a car.
Austin Reading is showrunning.
God, Guns & Automobiles follows History U.S. enlisting Cineflix Media to make American Pickers and co-producer Take 5 Productions for Vikings.
Michael Kronish, Isabelle Anouk Bourduas and Michel Bissonnette are executive producers for Zone3, which is also producing Match Game for the Comedy Network.
Zone3 also produces My Rona Home for City and Grin and Build It for W Network.
Tim Healy executive produces for History as God, Guns & Automobiles gets set to bow on July 8.
