Way of the Wicked wraps production in Squamish, B.C.

Way of the Wicked, a supernatural thriller starring Christian Slater, has wrapped production in Squamish, B.C.

The Odyssey Media film centres on a deadly game of cat and mouse between a detective (Vinnie Jones of X-Men:The Last Stand) and a teenager with a reputation for supernatural powers. The teen has eyes for the daughter of the detective who ends up consulting with a man of the cloth (Slater) on how to deal with this character’s evil ways.

Way of the Wicked was shot in Minaty Bay and Britannia Beach, both along the Sea to Sky Highway near Squamish, B.C. over 12 days in May.

The feature is directed by Kevin Carraway, written and produced by Matt Kelly and executive produced by Kirk Shaw of Odyssey Media.

A film and TV prodco, Odyssey Media has offices in Vancouver and Brisbane, Australia.

In 2013 the company also produced Bad Karma (starring Ray Liotta),  Absolute Deception (Cuba Gooding Jr), Hard Drive (John Cusack), Suddenly (Ray Liotta) and Out of Reach (Erin Karpluk).

Odyssey Media is owned by Sceptre Media which infused the subsidiary with $20 million in funding earlier this year to secure A-list casts and support multi-million dollar productions. In 2013, the company was slated to spend $53 million on 15 productions in Canada, Australia, Hungary and the U.S.
