Vancouver-based prodco Odyssey Media says its latest feature film, Hard Drive staring John Cusack and Thomas Jane, will start shooting in Queensland, Australia on June 4.
Produced in association with Los Angeles-based Voltage Pictures, Hard Drive is penned and directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith. Odyssey’s Kirk Shaw is executive producer along with producers Paul O’Kane and Pam Collis.
The plot of the action caper follows a mysterious American, played by Cusack, who arrives in Australia in need of a getaway-car driver. He finds one in a former Formula-One racer turned driving school instructor played by Jane, whom he tricks into doing the job.
Odyssey Media and Odyssey Film Studios Australia have been busy lately. Recent shoots down under have included Bad Karma starring Ray Liotta and Absolute Deception starring Cuba Gooding Jr.
Sceptre Media, Odyssey’s corporate parent, reported in January it had secured $20 million in financing to support Odyssey’s production slate.
