W Network launches Be the Boss Canada

Corus Entertainment’s W Network is launching Be the Boss Canada, a new competition series slated to premiere in June.

Produced by the team behind Undercover Boss Canada, the six-episode series gives employees at national franchises an opportunity to rise through the ranks and become a boss through a series of head-to-head challenges.

The series will follow two outstanding employees from a particular company , who think they are going through a week-long series of challenges to win a huge promotion. Unbeknownst to the competitors, they are also battling to win their own franchise.

“Louder and fiercely competitive, Be The Boss Canada is a perfect extension of Undercover Boss Canada. This new series offers an emotional and intensely entertaining insider’s view into a once in a lifetime career competition,” said Corus Entertainment VP original programming, lifestyle, reality factual entertainment Vibika Bianchi in a statement.

Companies on board so far for the series are Pizza Pizza, featured in the series premiere, Anytime Fitness and Pita Pit, with three more companies to be announced at a later date.

Be The Boss Canada is based on the format from Studio Lambert, part of the All3Media group of companies.

The series is exec produced by Thomas Howe, while series producer is Ron Carroll, producer is Donna Luke, and post-pro producer is Lisa Schwartz, all of whom worked in the same roles on Undercover Boss Canada. Several other Undercover Boss Canada producers, editors and crew are also working on the Be the Boss Canada.

This story has been updated to reflect that the series is six episodes, not eight, as previously stated.
