James Caan, Louis Gossett Jr. and veteran boxing trainer Freddie Roach are top-lining writer/director Damian Lee’s boxing movie A Fighting Man, now shooting in Toronto.

The indie sees Lee reteaming with producers Gary Howsam and Bill Marks after they collaborated on A Dark Truth.

The cast for A Fighting Man also includes Famke Janssen, Adam Beach, Michael Ironside and Sheila McCarthy.

Toronto-based Rollercoaster Entertainment and Vortex Words + Pictures in Sault Ste. Marie are producing, and TAJJ Media’s Jeff Sackman is executive producing and distributing the picture worldwide.

A Fighting Man pits two men boxing in the ring as part of a fight that will change their lives.

One boxer fights for redemption and forgiveness, while his opponent aims for hope and change. Ultimately, both men realize they need each other to make it through life.
