DHX Media has inked a deal with ABC TV Australia for Ha Ha Hairies, Rastamouse and Grandpa in my Pocket.
The Australian national public broadcaster picked up the exclusive free-to-air rights to all three shows for broadcast later this year.
The deal covers the first season of Ha Ha Hairies, the second season of Rastamouse and a renewal of Grandpa in my Pocket season one.
“[DHX Media’s] high quality content is a perfect addition to our line-up of diverse shows on offer on ABC3 and ABC4 Kids,” said ABC TV children’s head of programming and acquisitions Barbara Uecker in a statement.
“Rastamouse, Ha Ha Hairies and Grandpa in my Pocket are three very different shows which highlight the unique mix of stand-out properties in our portfolio,” said DHX SVP distribution Josh Scherba in his own statement, noting Australia as a key territory.
DHX holds worldwide TV and home entertainment rights, and North American licensing rights to Ha Ha Hairies, which is commissioned by Turner Broadcasting. The live action and animated Ha Ha Hairies is produced by U.K.-based Adastra Creative, which also produces CBeebies show Grandpa in my Pocket.
DHX holds worldwide TV and licensing rights to live action/FX series Grandpa in my Pocket. The company also holds worldwide TV (excluding the U.K.) and licensing rights to Rastamouse, based on the books by Genevieve Webster and Michael De Souza.
