Slew of Canadian shorts screening in Cannes

Telefilm Canada on Monday announced that 44 Canadian shorts will screen in the third edition of its Not Short on Talent programs at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Not Short on Talent is a group of five 90-minute programs screening at the Cannes Market and the festival’s Short Film Corner venue.

The Telefilm initiative is designed to increase international exploitation and promotion of short films to international buyers and festival programmers.

The shorts screening in Cannes and selected by short film programmer Danny Lennon, include Jeremy Lutter’s Floodplain (B.C., pictured); Fou, Rien pis Personne from Elise De Blois (Quebec); the 3D animated Gloria Victoria from Theodore Ushev (Quebec); Jean-Michel Vienneau’s Out ouest (New Brunswick); and Craig Goodwill’s The Spirit Game (Ontario).

The full list of Canadian shorts screening in Cannes will be available on Telefilm’s Cannes Film Festival microsite starting Apr. 22.

The Cannes Film Festival runs May 15 to 26, 2013.
