Entertainment One Films U.S. has appointed Ryan Markowitz to the newly-created role of VP, theatrical sales and distribution.

Markowitz, working out of eOne’s Manhattan office, will oversee all aspects of film distribution booking and collection for the company’s U.S. domestic theatrical division, which focuses on arthouse and indie genre and feature documentary films. Recent films in its lineup include fashion documentary Scatter My Ashes at Bergdof’s and Cuban Fury.

Markowitz joined eOne in early 2012 as a consultant managing releases for the company’s U.S. slate. He previously worked in film distribution at New Line Cinema, Picturehouse, Apparition, FilmDistrict and IDP.
