The Banff World Media Festival has tapped late night TV host Craig Ferguson to receive the Sir Peter Ustinov Comedy Award in June.
Ferguson, host of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, will be on hand to accept the creative tribute, while also participating in a one-on-one VIP session at Banff.
The Sir Peter Ustinov Comedy Award honors an outstanding comedic contribution to TV.
Past honourees include Bob Newhart, Barry Humphries (Dame Edna), Ricky Gervais and last year Chuck Lorre.
“Craig Ferguson has been a leader in late night comedy television for years and we are delighted he will be joining us this year to receive the Sir Ustinov Comedy Award,” said Ferne Cohen, executive director of the Banff World Media Festival, in a statement.
The Banff World Media Festival is set to run from June 9 to 12, 2013.
