Toronto-based broadcast distribution and production company Canamedia has appointed Bill McGowan as VP global sales and acquisitions, the company said Monday.

“Bill’s experience with content distribution in North American and international markets together with his excellent producer relationships developed over many years will help drive our Canamedia division forward,” said Magic Lantern Media president Doug Connolly in a statement.

McGowan is a current member of the Magic Lantern Media senior management team, and has led the company’s growth in new digital markets, online delivery and opened non-theatrical markets for Canamedia producers, the company said. In his new role, McGowan will advance the company’s overall reach.

Canamedia, a division of Magic Lantern Media, produces and distributes lifestyle, factual, entertainment, travel, adventure, outdoor and documentary programming.
