Swiss movie distributor Ascot Elite has acquired the German-speaking European rights to Atom Egoyan’s Queen of the Night, the Ryan Reynolds and Rosario Dawson-starring thriller now shooting in Sudbury.

The pre-sale deal with Entertainment One follows Ascot Elite earlier releasing another Egoyan title, The Devil’s Knot.

The cast for Queen of the Night includes Bruce Greenwood, Scott Speedman and Mireille Enos.

Queen of the Night centres on Reynolds and Enos as the parents of an abducted child, who, through a series of disturbing clues, appears to still be alive eight years later.

Speedman and Dawson star as the detectives working on the case.

The film, based on an original story by Egoyan with a screenplay by Egoyan and David Fraser, is co-produced by Ego Film Arts and The Film Farm.

Queen of the Night is produced by Egoyan, Simone Urdl, Jennifer Weiss and Stephen Traynor.
