The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival will this year host official delegations from China, Germany, Japan, Nigeria, the Nordic Region, Poland, South Africa and the U.S., the festival announced Tuesday.

The producer and broadcaster delegates will participate in networking opportunities, market events and conference sessions, including the Hot Docs Forum on May 1 and 2, and International Co-Production Day on April 29.

“We are happy to welcome delegations from around the world, to bring together a diverse group of storytellers. Opportunities like International Co-Production Day are all about international collaboration, and in the past have resulted in lasting partnerships and great documentary works. This year, we look forward to delivering nothing less,” said Hot Docs Industry program director Elizabeth Radshaw in a statement.

New this year, International Co-Production Day will feature producer-to-producer meetings, in which delegates can meet one-on-one with potential production partners from international delegations.

The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival runs April 25 to May 5.
