The Canadian Film Centre last week launched its 25th anniversary year with its annual gala and auction, Celebrating A Quarter Century of Creativity.

The brainchild of Norman Jewison, the CFC was founded in 1988 as a training institution for film, TV and digital media.

Programs and initiatives offered through the centre include the Actors Conservatory, Media Lab, CFC Features, the Slaight Family Music Lab and the Bell Media Prime Time TV program.

The gala event included a live musical performance by Stacey Key and live auction hosted by auctioneer Perry Tung . More than $600,000 was raised in support of CFC programs.

The event, which was presented by Cineplex Entertainment and Holt Renfrew, took place at The Carlu in downtown Toronto on Feb. 6, 2013.
