Indie producer Peter Raymont has a Grammy trophy after Glenn Gould was honoured Saturday night by the American Recording Academy in Los Angeles with a lifetime achievement trophy.
Raymont, who along with Michele Hozer directed the Glenn Gould documentary, Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould, was entrusted with the Grammy after a pre-telecast gala on the weekend.
The veteran documentary producer will bring the award back to Toronto and hand it over to Gould estate executor Stephen Posen.
Gould, an acclaimed Canadian pianist who died in 1982 at age 50 years, won four Grammys during his enigmatic career and after his death.
Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould in 2011 made it onto the Oscar shortlist for best long form documentary after a successful North American theatrical release.
