Principal photography will begin next week on She Kills Me, a new all-female comedy series produced by Victoria’s Less Bland Productions in association with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network and Drama Camp Productions.
The 13-episode series of half-hour comedy specials, to be taped in front of a live audience, will spotlight established and up-and-coming Canadian comediennes, including Dawn Dumont, Sharon Shorty, Karen Brelsford and Miss Rosie Bitts.
Each episode will feature on Aboriginal and one non-Aboriginal performer.
In addition to stand-up performances, the series will also include sketch comedy, music, storytelling and variety performance.
Created by exec producer Kirsten Van Ritzen, She Kills Me is produced and directed by Ian Ferguson and Leslie D. Bland and received funding from APTN and the CMF.
She Kills Me will be taped in front of a live audience at Victoria’s Metro Studio from Feb. 13 to 17.
