L.A.-based Canadian screenwriter Paul Mather is in development on multi-cam half-hour comedy pilot One Big Change for CBS Studios in association with exec producer Eric Tannenbaum of The Tannenbaum Company, it was announced Wednesday.
Mather is developing the pilot for CBS Studios’ VP comedy development Kate Adler and director of comedy development Jim Donnelly.
Mather in a statement said working with The Tannenbaum Company on his first development project in the U.S. is a “tremendous opportunity.”
The series focuses on a couple in their mid-twenties who agree to make one life-altering change of their partner’s choice in order to save their relationship.
Mather last year was part of the writing team on CBS Studios’ Friend Me. His previous Canadian credits as a producer and showrunner include Corner Gas and Little Mosque on the Prairie.
He is repped by ICM and Meridian Artists.
