More Canadian filmmakers are headed to the European festival circuit.
The International Film Festival Rotterdam has booked three Canadian co-productions, including a world bow for Frédérick Pelletier’s Diego Star, a Canada/Belgium co-production to screen as part of the CineMart Project 2013 program.
There’s also European premieres for Kayan, a Canada-Iran-Lebanon film by Vancouver-based Iranian filmmaker Maryam Najafi, and Chinese director Li Luo’s Emperor Visits the Hell, a China-Canada co-production that won the Dragons & Tigers award for young filmmakers in Vancouver where the film bowed (Li Luo pictured).
And the Berlin Film Festival has booked Danis Goulet’s short film Barefoot into its Generation 14Plus sidebar.
Barefoot follows Goulet’s second film, Wapawekka, which also screened in Berlin.
