Paperny Entertainment uncovers U.S. sale for Yukon Gold

The National Geographic Channel has dug deep for its latest Canadian import series: Yukon Gold, the doc series from Canada’s History channel and indie producer Paperny Entertainment.

The 10 one-hour episode series about four gold mining crews with four months to discover a big gold find in the Yukon is to debut in 2013.

Yukon Gold also allowed Paperny Entertainment president David Paperny to get back to his roots in documentary making.

“The Yukon is a spectacular part of the world to film in – and the miners we follow are not only authentic gold miners, they are also tenacious and heroic,” Paperny said in a statement.

“Best of all, our cameras film them as they find lots of gold,” he added.

The U.S. sale follows Paperny opening a New York City development office.

Yukon Gold is executive produced by David Paperny, Cal Shumiatcher, Audrey Mehler, Beth Wichterich, and Lynne Kirby.
