Ben Rotterman has been appointed to the position of production executive for original factual content at Shaw Media, it was announced Monday.

Rotterman will specifically oversee production and development of new series and specials for History Television, TVtropolis and Global. He will also work on digital media initiatives on behalf of Shaw Media channels with a focus on factual entertainment and formats.

“Ben’s production experience in factual documentary television, along with his expertise in the area of history, is a huge asset to our team,” said Shaw Media’s senior director of original factual content Sarah Jane Flynn in a statement.

Rotterman moves over from Bell Media, where he was most recently director of series and development for its music and entertainment channels. He was also a production executive on both scripted drama and factual-based series, including Degrassi, The L.A. Complex and 4Real.
