U.S. distributor XLrator Media is to release American Mary, the horror thriller from directors Jen and Sylvia Soska and indie producer IndustryWorks.

The genre title will be released on XLrator Media’s newly-launched Screamfest label in fall 2013.

American Mary follows the story of a medical student, played by Katharine Isabelle, who grows disenchanted with medical school and enters the shady world of underground surgery and body modification.

The U.S. deal follows the upcoming DVD and Blu-Ray release of the Canadian indie title in Britain by Universal Pictures’ home entertainment division.

The Soskas and their production shingle Twisted Twin Productions are in pre-production on their third movie, Bob, based on their own script.

The filmmakers are also at work on other projects, including jumping on board as directors of other movies as hired guns.
