Vancouver producers Omnifilm Entertainment and Quadrant Motion Pictures have joined forces to create a new film production shingle, Omnifilm Quadrant.
The new company will use Quadrant’s development slate to make theatrical movies exclusively, whether Canadian content titles or U.S.-originating service work.
The move follows Omnifilm ramping up its TV arm with the sci-fi series Primeval: New World for Syfy and Space.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Omnifilm Entertainment team,” said Mary Anne Waterhouse of Quadrant in a statement.
“Access to Omnifilm’s talented infrastructure and the ability to collaborate with Omnifilm partners, Michael Chechik, Gabriela Schonbach and Brian Hamilton is the ideal way to move our development and production slate to the next level,” she added.
Waterhouse is executive producing the dark comedy Lawrence & Holloman, and the romantic comedy That Burning Feeling, in production until Dec. 20th.
Quadrant is also packaging My Asshole Neighbour, a comedy slated for production in summer, 2013, with Alliance Films distributing.
