BuzzTaxi takes Jack the Ripper, Mob Stories to Europe

Toronto-based BuzzTaxi Communications has sold assorted factual and documentary series, including Mob Stories (pictured), to broadcasters in Poland, Germany, France and Russia.

Discovery Networks Europe has acquired the one-off special The Real Jack the Ripper to air in Poland, while Discovery Poland acquired Secrets of Christianity.

German-based Autentic Media has bought the Ripper one off for its South African cable channel.

Dutch broadcaster Out TV picked up the pay TV rights to lifestyle series The Decorating Adventures of Ambrose Price, while the one-hour one-off The Age of Anxiety will be available on Finland’s YLE.

In France, Planete Justice has secured non-standard broadcast rights for Mob Stories, a four-hour series.

Russia’s VideoFilm TV picked up the broadcast rights to the 6 x one-hour Secrets of Christianity, and one-off specials Science of the Soul and The Exodus Decoded.

The Exodus Decoded was also picked up by Thailand’s True Visions, along with the Secrets of Christianity series and 100 Days, an hour-long special about a young man’s journey down the Yukon River. The Decorating Adventures of Ambrose Price (26 x 30 minutes) is also part of the True Visions deal.

Iran’s Free TV bought the rights to Sanctuary: A New Life for Research Chimps.
