Pyramid cooks up new food series for CMT Canada

Tacos, burgers and pizzas are going head-to-head – or mouth-to-mouth – in three new partner series from Calgary-based Pyramid Productions for Country Music Television Canada.

The series – Burger Wars, Taco Wars and Pizza Wars – will feature host Cris Nannarone on a quest through restaurants, diners and food trucks to find the best burger, pizza or taco.

The top three contenders will ultimately go to battle, with Nannarone going behind-the-scenes to learn what goes into the dishes to make one of them a winner.

The five episodes of Burger Wars, five of Taco Wars, and four Pizza Wars episodes will travel to Vancouver, Toronto, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago, Calgary and Las Vegas.

Shooting starts in December in Los Angeles, with Nannarone searching for the best burger in Hollywood.

Pyramid’s Kirstie McLellan Day is exec producing the three series, which will be referred to on social media as the CMT Food Wars Series.

Buddy Day is showrunner. Larry Day and Sheila Ray are producers, Eppo Eerkes and Neil Grahn are directors, and Darren Dembicki is DOP.

The series are slated to air on CMT Canada in 2013.
