Michel Roy has been reappointed chairman of Telefilm Canada for five more years.
Roy, who was first appointed as chairperson of Telefilm in October 2007, was a management consultant in the private sector who had also worked in the Quebec Public Service since 1970.
The positions he held included Deputy Minister of Tourism, Deputy Minister of Communications and the Quebec government’s delegate in Chicago.
“I am pleased to announce that Mr. Roy has agreed to continue to serve with distinction as chairperson of Telefilm Canada,” said Minister James Moore. “His extensive experience in public administration and his proven leadership skills will continue to benefit the Board and Telefilm. His commitment to the film industry and his vast knowledge of arts will continue to be an invaluable asset to the organization.”
“Under Mr. Roy’s leadership, Telefilm is modernizing its operations and helping the Canadian industry to face the challenges of the future,” added Minister Moore.
