Matt Frewer (pictured), who performed the role of the iconic 1980s Max Headroom, has been cast in the short comedy film Hattie’s Heist, by director Gail Harvey and writer Prudence Emery.
Frewer will play a “flummoxed policeman,” alongside Maxine Miller as Hattie, an impoverished senior who is inspired by the British Queen to become an international bank robber and share her spoils with her peers.
The short film will also include cameo roles by former CTV news anchor Lloyd Robertson and broadcaster Moses Znaimer.
Emery, a veteran film publicist, worked with Frewer and Miller on Hallmark Channel’s Battle of the Bulbs.
Pat Ferns and Emery are producing Hattie’s Heist, which is set for a spring 2013 shoot in suburban Victoria, B.C.
