Vancouver-based prodco Reunion Pictures has named Paddy Bickerton president, moving her up from her former role as head of business development.
Bickerton, a lawyer by trade, has amassed over fifteen years of entertainment-industry legal and business, including in positions at Telefilm Canada and Studio B Productions (now part of DHX Media).
No one carried the title of president before Bickerton was named to the position, Playback was told.
Meanwhile, Katy Lew has been named head of finance, formalizing a position she’s held with the company for years. Prior to that she was with Dogwood Pictures.
As well, Leah Mallen has joined Reunion as head of development, in particular focusing on original scripted film and TV content. She formerly worked for Screen Siren Pictures and Twofold Films.
In a statement Monday, Reunion said the restructuring of its corporate management team was due to a significant increase in its production, development and business activities.
The company has seen success with its futuristic Showcase drama Continuum, which has recently been ordered for season two.
In August, Syfy acquired exclusive U.K. rights to the series from international distributor GK-tv.
Reunion also said it is currently working on two four-hour mini-series and has several new projects for 2013 yet to be announced.
The company is owned in a partnership involving Lisa Richardson, Matthew O’Connor and Tom Rowe.
