Indie producer Angela Heck has joined Winnipeg-based digital and transmedia producer Tactica Interactive as director of business development, it was announced Monday by the company’s founder and CEO Ken Glasier.

Heck will help expand Tactica’s work at home and internationally.

Heck is an indie producer with her own production shingle, Fringe Filmworks, based in Winnipeg. In March, she won the MTS On Demand pitch prize at On Screen Manitoba’s All Access Forum, a $20,000 licence fee for Buzz, a film that examines the culture of the mosquito and what life would be like without the insects.

She has also worked as industry program manager for the Whistler Film Festival.

Tactica co-produced the digital media strategy and website for Frantic Films’ web series The Verdict. The company creates cross-platform digital media strategy and products, including websites, mobile apps, games and social media, for producers, broadcasters and marketers.
