DVD and digital distributor Imavision has acquired the North American English- and French-language DVD and digital distribution rights to two seasons of Canadian drama Bomb Girls.
The Montreal-based co plans to launch the series into the Canadian home entertainment market for the holiday season. It plans to launch it in south of the border in the spring.
The drama, centered on a group of women working in a munitions factory building bombs during World War II, is produced by Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Film Production.
Bomb Girls, which debuted on Global in January as a six-part mini-series, received a 12-ep second season order from Shaw Media in February.
The series stars Meg Tilly, Jodi Balfour, Antonio Cupo, Ali Liebert, Charlotte Hegele and Anastasia Philips. Michael Seater is also joining the cast for the second season.
Bomb Girls is executive produced by Michael Prupas, Janis Lundman, Adrienne Mitchell and Michael MacLennan.
The series airs on Global in Canada, TVA Group’s French-language Addik TV, and ReelzChannel in the U.S.
