Canadian distributor VVS Films went into the Toronto International Film Festival with David Ayer’s End of Watch, Terrence Malick’s To the Wonder and Nicolás López’s Aftershock on its release slate.
Now it emerges from Toronto with three new titles, including Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, which had its North American premiere at TIFF.
The James Franco, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens-starrer is due for a 2013 release.
And VVS Films also acquired all Canadian rights to two non-Toronto titles, Red Granite Pictures and Mandalay Pictures’ Horns, directed by Alexandre Aja and starring Daniel Radcliffe, Juno Temple, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner and Max Minghella, and David Grovic’s crime thriller Motel, starring John Cusack and Robert DeNiro.
The deals were negotiated between Ernie Grivakis and Harry Grivakis for VVS Films with Danny Dimbort and Christian Mercuri, who lead Red Granite Pictures’ foreign sales division, Red Granite International.
And the Spring Breakers deal was hammered out by Grivakis and Ted Field and Mike Weber for Radar Pictures.
