Interactive Ontario appoints Peter Miller as new chair

Peter Miller is the new chairman of Interactive Ontario, it was announced Wednesday.

Miller, elected at IO’s annual general meeting earlier this year, replaces marblemedia’s Mark Bishop, who held the post since it was created in 2009.

“It’s an exciting time for interactive digital media in Ontario and I look forward to working closely with the other members of the board and the companies that IO represents,” Miller said in a statement.

Miller, a lawyer and engineer, has held senior positions with companies including Vision TV, CHUM Limited and the Canadian Association of Broadcasters.

And Trevor Fencott of bitHeads will take over the role of IO secretary from Diana Cafazzo, who held the position since the organization’s inception.

Elsewhere, Lucie Lalumière has been re-appointed as IO vice-chair, and Spence McDonnell reappointed as treasurer.

Interactive Ontario is a non-profit industry trade organization with the goal of growing Ontario’s interactive digital content industry.
